When I was taking high school biology, I was under the impression that genetic mutations were rather rare so I was surprised to find so many in my genome browsing through my 23andme raw data. So far, I found several rare mutations of various types in my genome. I'm counting heterozygous mutations with minor allele frequencies of 0.05 or less and homozygous mutations with minor allele frequencies of 0.10 or less. The following are only from chromosomes 1 through 3 ...
Missense = 4
Splice donor = 2
Stop gained (nonsense) = 2
Soon, I'll report on my findings on other chromosomes.
